Sadly, the latest Nintendo Direct have much to say about The Legend of Zelda Wii U. However, Nintendo promised the game is still releasing in 2016 for the Wii U console.

During the latest Nintendo Direct, Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime, mentioned that the team is still working very hard on The Legend of Zelda Wii U.

The best news is that the game will still be released for the Wii U console and is still set to be released in the year of 2016. This is good news because some people feared the game could have been delayed or be released for the Nintendo NX console instead.

It was also mentioned that we should see some more footage from the game sometime next year. The game was originally going to be released in late 2015, but had to be delayed. Hopefully a release date for the game is revealed in the coming months so we know how much longer we have to wait to play it.

The only new thing shared about The Legend of Zelda Wii U today at Nintendo Direct is a new screenshot. It shows Link in a hood riding on a horse. Whether or not this horse is Epona remains to be confirmed.
