Publisher Focus Home Interactive and developer Deck13 Interactive have announced that a few select people will soon be able to participate in a closed beta for the upcoming action RPG, The Surge 2.

In a statement announcing the beta, the companies said development has reached a stage where feedback would be useful in further fine-tuning and polishing the game.

The team has been working hard on The Surge 2 and we’ve now reached a stage at which we’d like to gather feedback about the game. Your reports will be instrumental in order to polish the experience as much as possible.

From the looks of things, however, the range of that feedback is going to be rather small, as not only will the closed beta be limited to roughly 50 people, but it will also only be available on PC. Beyond that, there are other requirements such as being at least 18 years old and speaking either English or French in order to communicate with the development team.

That said, even if the beta is somewhat limited in scope, considering the original game was more or less swallowed by similar Souls-inspired titles, taking the time to ensure it stands out within a genre that has only become more bloated since 2017 is wise.

At any rate, if you’re interested in trying out The Surge 2 ahead of release, then be sure to fill out the application here.

The Surge 2 is in development for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, and is due out in 2019.
