Visceral’s Star Wars Game Is Not Coming Until 2018

The Star Wars saga may have seemingly been over after 2005’s Revenge of the Sith, but the franchise is growing bigger than ever with not just a new trilogy of movies, but spin-offs and also a number of games. It was confirmed yesterday that a new Battlefront will be coming next year, but now we finally have a release window for the mysterious Star Wars game that is coming from Visceral.

We’ve known for awhile now that Visceral is working on a Star Wars game of some sort, though we still know absolutely nothing about what it is or what it could be. The only big detail of note is that it has Amy Hennig involved, who left Naughty Dog part the way through the development of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End to work on the project.

Many expected we’d hear something about this game at E3 last year, but it came and went without even a mention. Then we just got the announcement of another new Star Wars game recently from Respawn, but thankfully EA has finally given us at least something on Visceral’s Star Wars title.

EA held an investors’ call yesterday in which they discussed a number of different topics. According to VentureBeat, one of those topics was not only the aforementioned Battlefront news, but also that Visceral’s Star Wars game is currently scheduled for release in 2018.

This means we are still a good ways away from this one coming out, which could mean the game will once again be skipping E3 this year. Hopefully we’ll at least get some sort of teaser though to keep the hype up on this game that many are excited to see.
