Marjorie Taylor Greene shocked The View hosts with her civility, but one co-host isn’t buying the transformation

Sunny's not buying it.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene from Georgia appeared on The View this week and surprised everyone with how friendly and calm she was. The Republican lawmaker talked with the show’s hosts on Tuesday and kept things polite the whole time. She even said some critical things about her own party but did it in a nice way.

But one of the hosts thinks Greene might not be showing her true self. According to Fox News, Sunny Hostin said she believes Greene is just acting different because she has bigger plans for her political career.

Hostin talked about the interview on the show’s Behind the Table podcast. “I don’t think she’s changed. I did ask her, ‘Are we seeing an evolution?’ And she specifically, I think, responded, ‘No, I’m the same person,'” Hostin said. “And so I think at a big age, in my experience, people don’t change, but they may behave differently, because they want something.”

She may behave differently because she wants something

Hostin thinks Greene might want to run for a bigger job, maybe for the Senate or even president. She said the nicer behavior they saw during the interview was probably part of a plan and not real change.

Some news reports recently said Greene was thinking about running for president in 2028. Greene, who has made headlines for her strong positions on different issues, wrote on X that the story was “baseless” and said she just wants to focus on doing her current job and passing bills.

During the Tuesday interview, Hostin told Greene she seemed really different from what she expected. Greene reminded her that this was their first time meeting and that Hostin had only seen short clips and news headlines about her before. Hostin even joked that it seemed like Greene was now on the political left.

But Greene said that wasn’t true at all and she was still completely loyal to the people who voted for her. Her exact words were: “Oh, no, nothing has changed about me. I am staying 100% true to the people that voted for me and true to my district.”

Greene told the hosts she liked how they were all sharing their different ideas in a nice and professional way. She said the country needs more conversations like this one. Greene said a lot of people wanted her to come on the show and start arguments with everyone, but she didn’t want to do that.

“I think that all of us here are doing a great job of exchanging our ideas and things that we believe in, and we’re doing it in a very professional and kind way and, in my opinion, I think we need more of that in America,” the Republican continued.

Her appearance comes during a time when Republican leaders are dealing with various political challenges. People are still trying to figure out if Greene really means what she said or if she’s just trying to look better for future elections.
