Sony recently showcased some brand-new gameplay for their upcoming PlayStation 4 exclusive, The Order: 1886. The Ready at Dawn title was supposed to arrive this fall for the PS4, being one of Sony’s big first party exclusives for the console.

Rumors however, say that The Order: 1886 will be seeing a delay, and will release in February 2015. The rumor comes from a couple of different sources on social media, which have been right about these things in the past.

If true, the first party lineup this fall for the PlayStation 4 is beginning to look paltry. Drive Club is still slated for later this year, but The Order: 1886 was supposed to be the big, action-oriented exclusive that Sony had up their sleeve for the holiday season.

Sony has neither confirmed nor denied the delay, and it’s important that this is treated as a rumor for the time being.

Assuming it’s true, The PlayStation 4 fall lineup could use a shot in the arm from the upcoming E3 convention. The gaming expo could reveal what to expect on the console this fall, other than the known quantities, which are slim at this point.

Update: According to numerous reports out of a pre-E3 preview event for the game, Ready at Dawn’s Ru Weerasuriya has confirmed that the game has indeed been delayed until 2015.

“To deliver that experience that we’ve wanted, and that we hope players expect, we’re targeting an early 2015 release on the game,” according to Weerasuriya. “…We’re really trying to hone in on getting the whole game to that level of polish.”
