After months of anticipation and a small release for Halloween, Gen 3 Pokemon are now spawning in Pokemon Go. The new generation offers players 50 brand new Pokemon to catch throughout the real world. Rarity and power levels will be figured out over the coming days, weeks, and months, but for now Pokemon Go players should get out there and start hunting once again.

Of course, this release does bring other features as well, such as Battle Parties and dynamic weather. Players can create parties for use in raids or gym battles, putting together groups of creatures that work well together for whatever task the player wants. Dynamic weather has a few impacts on gameplay. For one, as the weather shifts different Pokemon will begin spawning. It also has effects during battle, with moves acting differently depending on the weather.

This release brings the number of available Pokemon up to 356 total across all generations. Not every player can catch everything though, as many are locked by region or raids. Ho-Oh is currently still available in Legendary Raids, and Niantic has teased Gen 3 Legendaries like Groudon. We’ll wait and see when these beasts will begin spawning. For now, you might want to clear some space and get hunting.
