It’s been just under two months since Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 launched to both critical and commercial success, and as the online war rages on, fans have begun to anticipate the first DLC offering for the shooter.  As was recently made public, the first wave of content for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will launch on January 24th, 2012 in a timed exclusivity window on the Xbox 360.

Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games have been hush hush about what to expect entirely from the DLC, but rumors have pointed towards a five map multiplayer pack. Infinity Ward’s Robert Bowling also recently took to Elite TV to talk about the upcoming map pack, as well as future updates.

“The way we’re doing downloadable content this year, is unlike we’ve ever done before. Not only on how you get it… but also the type of content you’re getting. We’re doing more than just maps, we can do Spec-Ops missions, we can do a variety of things that players have never seen before. That’s the great thing about having three developers contributing to this season of content.”

The complete details for the upcoming January map pack haven’t been fully revealed but rumors pointed to these maps as the first offering.
