How to Evolve Tadbulb into Bellibolt in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Evolving Pokemon has always been a right of passage within mainline Pokemon games, so it’s no surprise that Pokemon Scarlet and Violet continue the tradition of being an integral process for every trainer to experience regardless of which monsters are in their party. But with a new region comes an entirely new generation of Pokemon and new evolution methods to explore and experience. Luckily, some of the latest additions to the Pokemon roster can be evolved simply by giving them an item, and Tadbulb is one of these. So read on to discover how you can evolve your Tadbulb into Bellibolt.

When Does Tadbulb Evolve in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet?

To evolve Tadbulb into Bellibolt, the process is much more straightforward than just focusing on leveling up. Your Tadbulb can be evolved at any point, given you have access to a Thunder Stone. Similar to previous Pokemon Games, these stones can be collected in a variety of locations around Paldea, so your best bet in finding one is to keep your eyes on the ground, which is a lot easier considering you can now send your Pokemon out to explore via the Let’s Go command to gather any items that may be lingering around the ground. Once you’ve collected one, you’ll be able to present it to your Tadbulb, and the evolution process will trigger immediately — so there is no need to worry about completing a final battle to earn the last crumbs of XP to level up.

Alongside being a super squishy and cute companion to have by your side through Paldea, Bellibolt can also be a fierce competition during some brutal Pokemon Battles, so its appealing appearance shouldn’t distract you from the strength of the Pokemon. Its entire electric-type build could easily take on flying and water-type Pokemon. Since it’s Iono’s partner Pokemon, you’d expect one of the strongest gym leaders to have a ferocious partner. So if you have a spare Thunder Stone, Bellibolt is a Pokemon every trainer should consider adding to their party.
