During your journey throughout the many dangers present in Elden Ring, you will be able to make use of a wide array of not only various weapons, each featuring their own playstyle and characteristics, but also equip a wide array of armor pieces, many of which can prove to be the difference between getting one-shotted by one of the game’s massive and extremely aggressive bosses or managing to withstand the blow and stay in the fight. But can you upgrade your armor pieces in Elden Ring?
Can You Upgrade Armor in Elden Ring?
Unfortunately to all players who were hoping to upgrade their favorite pieces of armor and overall sets in the game, the Tarnished cannot upgrade/refine their armor pieces/sets. With that said, even if you cannot upgrade your set’s overall stats, the game offers many other ways to increase your protection, which can be done by equipping select pieces of armor offering passives, as well as by equipping many different Talismans, which will be, together with your stat distribution and weapon of choice, the defining factors of select builds.
How to Get More Defense in the Game
The best way to increase your overall defense in Elden Ring can be done by either equipping heavy pieces of armor, set to provide, at the cost of mobility, bigger protection against physical and magical attacks. As we said above, equipping select Talismans, which can offer a massive increase in your resistance against various types of damage, is also advised.
With that out of the way, among the many Talismans, you can increase your overall Physical damage negation by equipping either the Dragoncrest Shield Talisman or the Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman. For those looking to increase their overall defense against pure magic, it can be done by equipping either tier of the Spelldrake Talisman.
