The Division Guide: Where to Get Clothes

Tom Clancy’s The Division is chock full of stuff to collect. Most of it is extremely different and helpful, such as new weapons and gear. Other stuff is just there to let you customize your character, such as clothes. Well, that’s disingenuous, as even these have some perks and stats that will alter your character in subtle ways. However, the main benefit of getting new clothes is to make your character look cooler. Either way, the question remains, where to get clothes in The Division.

UPDATE: There is also a Clothese Vendor that you can unlock in your Main Base. To gain him, simply upgrade your Security Wing using the Supply Line upgrade. This will add the new vendor, who will sell you randomized sets of clothing.

Of course, as with almost anything, including lock picks, clothes will drop randomly as loot when you kill enemies. To increase your odds of this, just load up easier missions, such as the ones surrounding the main base, where you start the game proper (meaning, after the opening training area and cutscene). Just killing a bunch of enemies will sort of give you a law of averages chance of getting some new and cool clothes.

Outside of this, you can actually aim to get some clothes in The Division, though there is still some randomness to it. Whenever you are wandering around the nearly abandoned streets of New York and see a “civilian in need” be sure to give them whatever it is that they are asking for. Almost every single time, the civilian will drop an item of clothing. It might just be as small as a scarf, but it’s at least giving you some options as far as how to customize your character.

Of course, if you really want the best clothes in the game you are a bit out of luck. The Hazmat Suit is currently reserved for those that preordered, but we walk you through how to get it here if you’re in that group.

Be sure to let us know what cool clothes you got in The Division in the comments below.
