Chorizo is one of the many Amigos that you can recruit in Far Cry 6, and he’s an incredibly useful ally despite his adorable appearance. He’s a small little dog that needs a wheelchair to get around, but that doesn’t mean he can’t participate in the revolution. Chorizo is a stealth Amigo, making him a perfect fit for players who like to do things quietly with a bow. He can distract enemies and sniff out materials and resources for you as well, giving him utility even outside of combat. Here’s how to find
How to Get Chorizo in Far Cry 6
Chorizo can be obtained fairly early in Far Cry 6. He becomes available after you complete the “Meet the Monteros” story mission, which is unlocked after finishing the introduction of the game by completing “The Guerilla” story mission. Located in the western region of Madgrugada, the Montero family is one of the many guerilla groups that you can make contact with regarding an alliance with Libertad.
Once you finish the “Meet the Monteros” mission and unlock the Montero Farm Guerilla Camp, you can find Chorizo outside of his kennel near the camp’s entrance. Read the note next to him to start the “Who’s A Good Boy?” mission. Before you can take Chorizo with you, you have to feed him his favorite meal to complete this quest.
Where to Find Crocodile Meat
Chorizo’s favorite dish involves crocodile meat, so you’ll have to go hunting. Crocodiles can be found all over Yara, but thankfully, there’s a nearby Yaran Crocodile Hunting Spot in Costa del Mar, which is a short distance south of Montero Farm.
When you arrive in the area, you may not find a crocodile immediately. Make sure you check the water and nearby foliage just in case any of them are lying in wait for some prey. When you finally do encounter a crocodile, aim for the head so you don’t damage the meat. You only need one piece of Yaran Crocodile meat for this mission. When you have it, return to Montero Farm and place it in Chorizo’s bowl to complete this quest.
Finding the crocodile meat was the bulk of this questline, but it’s not quite over yet. After feeding Chorizo, you have to pet him to start another mission from him called “Fetch Quest.” This mission is incredibly easy, all you have to do is follow Chorizo around Montero Farm as he digs up items for you.
After following Chorizo around and taking whatever items he finds for you, the quest will be over. At this point, Chorizo will be unlocked as an Amigo. You can set him as your active companion in the Amigo menu.
Chorizo is a stealth Amigo, so he has plenty of skills that can help players that like to do things quietly. His primary ability allows him to distract enemies, opening them up for an easy sneak attack. He can’t fight or do any damage at all, though. Over time, Chorizo can unlock the following abilities:
- Bloodhound – Chorizo will tag nearby crafting Resources.
- To unlock, distract 10 enemies with Chorizo.
- Yes, You Can – When you pet Chorizo, you’ll regain some health.
- To unlock, have Chorizoz tag 36 loot containers.
- Keen Senses – Chorizo will occasionally dig Resources out of the ground.
- To unlock, use Chorizo’s healing ability 50 times.
Chorizo’s abilities make him the perfect support Amigo. Even if you don’t find yourself using Amigo abilities very often in Far Cry 6, his unlockable skills allow him to tag crafting resources, heal you, and dig resources out of the ground. He’s a useful ally to have around even if you don’t give him any commands, and he’s a good boy overall.
Far Cry 6 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Google Stadia, and Amazon Luna.
