How to Change Class and Job in Final Fantasy XIV Online

To change your class in Final Fantasy XIV Online, players will need to reach level 10 and complete their particular guild quest afterward. Once done, players can apply to any other class guild they want. Here are the restrictions on class switching in Final Fantasy Online:

  • Cannot change class during combat.
  • Within instanced content (but it is possible to switch during PvP setups).
  • While actions are still mid-completion on the server side.

Here are where all the guilds are to change your class:

  • Old Gridania: Lancer, Conjurer, Botanist, Leatherworker
  • New Gridania: Archer, Carpenter
  • Hustings Strip: Alchemist
  • Ul’dah Steps of Thal: Gladiator, Miner, Goldsmith, Weaver
  • Ul’dah Steps of Nald: Pugilist, Thaumaturge
  • Limsa Lominsa Upper Decks: Marauder, Culinarian, Blacksmith, Armorer
  • Limsa Lominsa Lower Decks: Arcanist, Rogue, Fisherman

How to Upgrade Classes to Jobs in Final Fantasy XIV Online

By finishing your class quest chain through level 30, your particular mentor will offer a new quest to advance to a powerful job. Here are the locations for each class upgrade quest:

  • White Mage (Conjurer): Seer Folly – E-Sumi-Yan, Old Gridania (x:6.3, y:10.6)
  • Scholar (Arcanist): Forgotten but Not Gone – Murie, Limsa Lominsa Lower Decks (x:4.5, Y:11.2)
  • Summoner (Arcanist): Austerities of Flame – Thubyrgeim, Limsa Lominsa Lower Decks (x:4.7, Y:11.4)
  • Black Mage (Thaumaturge): Taking the Black – Yayake, Ul’dah Steps of Nald (x:7.3, Y:12.4)
  • Bard (Archer): A Song of Bards and Bowmen – Luciane, New Gridania (x:15.4, y:11.9)
  • Dragoon (Lancer): Eye of the Dragon – Ywain, Old Gridania (x:14.3, y:5.8)
  • Monk (Pugilist): Brother from Another Mother – Gagaruna, Ul’dah Steps of Nald (x:9.4, Y:10.2)
  • Ninja (Rogue): Peasants by Day, Ninjas by Nights – Jacke, Limsa Lominsa Lower Decks (x:6.0, Y:6.1)
