How to Complete Lend Lease in Escape from Tarkov and Survive the Resort

If you have been playing Escape from Tarkov for a while, you know that Skier has a knack for giving out some of the most annoying tasks in the game. Lend Lease Part 1 is one of those legendary mid-wipe hurdles that forces me to balance high-risk PvP with technical scavenger hunting across two of the largest maps: Woods and Shoreline.

I have found that most players struggle with this quest because it funnels you directly into the Health Resort, which is basically a meat grinder for PMCs. To make things easier, I have broken down exactly where to go, how to save money on keys, and how to handle the new map changes from the recent reworks.

Getting started with the Skier and his big deal

EFT-Lend-Lease-Truck

Once you hit level 26, Skier will reach out with what he calls a big deal. He wants you to track down five pieces of military tech: three Motor Controllers and two Single-axis Fiber Optic Gyroscopes. These are quest items, which means they go into your special quest inventory. If you die before you extract, they are gone, and you have to go back to the spawn point to get them again.

I highly recommend turning these items in to Skier as soon as you get them. You do not have to find all five in one go. If I grab the two items on Woods and get out alive, I immediately hand them over before even thinking about heading to Shoreline.

Tracking down the tech in the Woods

Woods is usually the easier half of this mission, but the locations are still high-traffic areas. I suggest bringing a long-range optic because the USEC checkpoint and the Sawmill are sniper favorites.

  • Motor Controller 1: Head to the USEC checkpoint west of the Sawmill. You will see a black SUV parked right there. I usually check for scavs in the woods nearby first. Open the driver-side door and look at the center console between the seats to find the controller.
  • Gyroscope 1: This one is at the Sawmill (Lumber Mill) in the center of the map. Look for a light-blue pickup truck parked near the large gray warehouse. Jump into the bed of the truck and you will find the gyroscope inside a small, open wooden box.

I have noticed a recurring bug in recent patches where the SUV door stays locked even if you have the right keys. If that happens to you, try restarting your client or checking if the quest is actually active in your task list.

Shoreline is where this quest gets truly dangerous. You are going to need a few keys, and you are going to need to know your way around the Azure Coast Health Resort. My personal strategy is to hit the Resort as fast as possible if I get a close spawn, or wait until the final ten minutes of the raid when the chads have already extracted.

The Resort keys you need

To get inside the locked rooms, you are going to need specific keys. You can usually find these on the Flea Market, but they can be pricey.

  • West Wing Room 216 Key: This is mandatory for the second gyroscope.
  • East Wing Room 306 or 308 Key: You only need one of these! These rooms share a balcony, so if you open 306, you can just walk over to the 308 side to get the quest item. This little tip has saved me hundreds of thousands of roubles over the years.

  • Motor Controller 2: This is at the Weather Station (sometimes called Radar Hill) on the eastern side of the map. Look for a wooden crate tucked away in the trees west of the main tower. I usually use a bearing of 170 degrees from the southeast corner of the abandoned boxcar nearby to find it.
  • Motor Controller 3: This is on the shared balcony of East Wing Rooms 306 and 308. It is sitting in a cardboard box near a generator.
  • Gyroscope 2: Head to West Wing Room 216. As soon as you walk in, look to your left. The gyroscope is sitting inside a metal locker or closet.

Why these items matter in the lore

I think it is fascinating that Battlestate Games actually uses real-world physics for these quest items. This is partially what makes the Escape from Tarkov lore special. These Single-axis Fiber Optic Gyroscopes (FOGs) are not just random loot: they are based on high-precision tech like the NTFOG170A units used in real military drones.

In the lore, Skier’s clients want these because they use the Sagnac effect to measure angular velocity. Basically, these gyros allow the drones to stay stable in the harsh, high-interference environment of the Norvinsk region. By taking them, you are helping Skier’s capitalist friends prevent local factions from reverse-engineering foreign drone tech.

Is the reward worth the risk?

Completing this quest gives you a solid chunk of 17,500 XP and a decent stack of US Dollars. If you want to maximize your profit, you should really work on your Hideout first.

  • Base Reward: 3,000 Dollars.
  • Intelligence Center Level 1: 3,150 Dollars.
  • Intelligence Center Level 2: 3,450 Dollars.

I usually wait until I have my Intelligence Center at level 2 before turning this in to get that extra cash. While this isn’t the best money-making method in EFT, it’s still something.Plus, finishing this quest is the only way to unlock the purchase of the ORSIS T-5000M sniper rifle from Skier, which is one of my favorite bolt-actions for working on the Peacekeeper quest line.

Survival tips for the Shoreline rework

The 0.14 and 0.15 updates changed Shoreline significantly. The old concrete fences are mostly gone, replaced by minefields and snipers. If you are trying to extract toward the Road to Customs after grabbing the Weather Station controller, stay sharp.

I recommend using the new fallen tree bridge near the gas station if the main power plant crossing feels too exposed. Also, watch out for the guards; they love to hang out near the Resort and the Cottages, and they will end your quest run in a heartbeat with their high-tier ammo.

Good luck out there. This quest is a test of patience, but once you have those keys and a solid path, you will be through it in no time.
