Overwatch 2 is now free-to-play and that means any chance you get to earn free Overwatch Coins must be taken. Overwatch Coins are used to purchase Legendary skins and even the new Battle Pass. Here is how to get free Overwatch Coins in Overwatch 2.

How to Earn Free Overwatch Coins in Overwatch 2

The Overwatch 2 Season 1 Battle Pass has some great Legendary skins, charms, sprays, and more. And while there are rewards for those who want to just enjoy the free Battle Pass, the Premium Battle Pass has much more to offer.

The Overwatch 2 Premium Battle Pass works just like other live-service games’ Battle Passes. That includes a necessary purchase using Overwatch Coins. The Premium Battle Pass costs 1,000 Overwatch Coins which equates to about $10. Normally, Overwatch Coins are purchased with real world money, but there is a way to earn a lot of them in the game.

There are six Challenge types in Overwatch 2: Daily, Weekly, Seasonal, Competitive, Lifetime, and Hero Challenges. Completing any type of challenge rewards you with Battle Pass XP, player titles, Icons, and even Overwatch Coins.

Weekly Challenges offer 5,000 XP upon completion, but if you finish a certain number of them, you will gain Overwatch Coins. It works like this: complete four Weekly Challenges and earn 10 Overwatch Coins, complete eight Weekly Challenges and earn 20 Overwatch Coins, and complete 11 Weekly Challenges and earn 30 Overwatch Coincs. In total, you can earn 60 Overwatch Coins every week.

With this in mind, you can earn around 240 free Overwatch Coins a month. If you do consistently do this for four months, you’ll be a few Overwatch Coins shy of buying the Premium Battle Pass.

And that is how to earn free Overwatch Coins in Overwatch 2. If you’re looking for Hero guides, how to unlock Heroes, and much more, visit our Overwatch 2 page.
