Sniper Elite 5 Not Launching Fix: How to Solve PC Version Not Starting

Recommended Videos

Sniper Elite 5 is finally here, but some PC Game Pass players are having trouble with the game not launching or crashing on startup. The issue seems to revolve around Easy Anti Cheat, or EAC for short, as players are asked to install the software before they can start playing the game. Since EAC is so common and used for countless online games, many players already have the anti-cheat software installed. Even in that scenario, the game is failing to launch. Here’s what you can do if Sniper Elite 5 is not starting on your PC.

How to Fix Sniper Elite 5 Not Launching

If you find that Sniper Elite 5 is not launching and you’re attempting to run the game via PC Game Pass, then there’s a simple solution. Just run the game as an administrator and it will start normally. This is just a workaround until Rebellion issues a fix, which will hopefully come soon.

Some players are reporting that this doesn’t fix the issue though, so another strategy you can try is to create a desktop icon for the game and then run it as an administrator that way. The game should boot up normally, and you can start playing Sniper Elite 5.

If this isn’t working for you, then another thing that has worked for some people is opening the Xbox app, clicking on “manage game,” and then clicking the button that says “enable advanced management features.” This will make the game verify its files, and you’ll be able to successfully install EAC afterward.

If all else fails, then you can untick the “Use EAC” setting in the options menu of the launcher, which can be accessed by clicking the cog icon. Then, running the game as an administrator should work according to Rebellion. You won’t be able to play online though since EAC will be disabled. If this doesn’t work for you, then you’ll sadly have to wait for Rebellion to issue a patch that fixes this issue.

Sniper Elite 5 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
