The Quarry Chapters List: How Long Does It Take to Beat The Quarry?

Recommended Videos

The Quarry is finally here, and this choice-driven horror game is divided into multiple chapters that take place over the course of the night. The Quarry puts you in control of a group of teenage camp counselors who are stuck at their summer camp for one extra night, and in typical horror fashion, everything goes horribly wrong almost immediately. The first few chapters of The Quarry are quite slow, but things pick up considerably in the second half of the game. Your first playthrough may last longer than you’d expect too, since the game gives you plenty of chances to slow down and explore. Here’s how many chapters are in The Quarry.

How Many Chapters Are in The Quarry?

There are 10 chapters in The Quarry (plus a prologue and epilogue), and each of them is listed below.

  • Prologue
  • Chapter 1: Hackett’s Quarry Forever!
  • Chapter 2: Truth or Dare
  • Chapter 3: Trouble in Paradise
  • Chapter 4: Don’t Panic
  • Chapter 5: White Noise
  • Chapter 6: Prayers by Night
  • Chapter 7: The Past Behind Us
  • Chapter 8: The Belly of the Beast
  • Chapter 9: The Matriarch
  • Chapter 10: Bricks and Mortar
  • Epilogue

Even though the story has several branching directions and endings, none of these chapters are missable. The same cannot be said for the game’s paths, which are absolutely missable if you don’t explore thoroughly enough or avoid making certain choices. Depending on your choices, some chapters may be longer or shorter than they are for other players. Everything comes down to how many surviving characters you have left and the decisions you make for them.

How Long to Beat the Quarry?

At the bare minimum, The Quarry will take roughly 8 hours to complete. Multiple sections of the game let the story take a backseat to exploration though, so you can easily end up taking 10-12 hours for a single playthrough if you scour the environment looking for evidence, clues, and tarot cards.

Your playthrough can also be much shorter than 8 hours if you end up losing multiple characters, since those counselors won’t be around for the scenes that would have happened later in the game. In Supermassive’s previous titles, killing everyone caused the game to end much earlier, so keep that in mind if you want a particularly bloody first run of The Quarry.

The Quarry is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
