Where to Find a Recon Scanner in Fortnite Season 8

Recommended Videos

There are all kinds of new stuff being thrown around in Fortnite Season 8, Chapter 2 and one of those things is the reintroduction of the Recon Scanner. In between all the high-profile add-ons like the Balenciaga update and more, Fortnite has still found a way to keep an ongoing narrative of sorts going strong and here it harkens back to Season 7 of Fortnite for a quest. Recon Scanners appeared for the first time in Season 7 of Fortnite and were directly part of the Alien and IO storyline. The Aliens are gone now, but the IO guards are still around and they are the ones protecting the Recon Scanners. In order to get them back, we’re going to have to do our best secret agent impression to complete a quest for Wraith. Here’s where to find a Recon Scanner in Fortnite.

Where to Find a Recon Scanner in Fortnite

The only place that you can find the Recon Scanners currently is in the IO bases. This also happens to be linked to Wraith’s quest where you might infiltrate 3 bases to get the Recon Scanner. How convenient. Here are the locations you can find the Recon Scanners at.

Getting there is only step one of the equation though as we still need to infiltrate the bases to get what we’re looking for. Once at a base, get as stealthy as you can and try slipping past the guards without being detected. If you do this successfully, you should find legendary chests within the building. They won’t always drop Recon Scanners, but most of the time they will. If you don’t find anything at your first base, keep searching as one of the bases will always have one, you just have to get a bit lucky here to find it quickly.

Once you’ve found the Recon Scanner, you will get a notification telling you that you have completed Wrath’s quest. Exiting the game from this point will guarantee the quest is finished, so you don’t have to worry about losing any progress here.

Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 8 continually rolls out the updates on a weekly basis now, and between the collaborations from everywhere imaginable and the constant influx of new items and missions, it’s easy to see why it’s still one of the most popular games in the world.

Fortnite is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, IOS, and Android.
