Bungie writer joins Microsoft in new creative role, possibly Halo 5

Joseph Staten has had his hands in every Bungie made Halo game in the series. After leaving Bungie in late-2013, Staten has joined Microsoft as a Senior Creative Director at Microsoft Studios.

The information comes from Staten’s recently updated LinkedIn profile, but no details about what the developer is currently working on are to be found. Outside of making “incredible entertainment” for Microsoft, it’s unclear what Staten is working on in Seattle.

Is Staten returning to guide the Halo franchise once again? That wouldn’t be a bad bet to make, and would be a huge win for Halo fans. After all, he’s one of the minds that created Microsoft’s flagship franchise.

The next Halo game is due out this year, according to recent statements from Microsoft.
