EA is not afraid to delay Star Wars Battlefront if the game needs it.
EAÂ COO Peter Moore was recently interviewed by MCV. Moore was honest about considering delaying Star Wars Battlefront if DICE wasn’t able to ship the game problem-free on time.
Moore said EA won’t be able to ship Star Wars Battlefront “if it doesn’t work or the quality isn’t right“. He said if the game wasn’t ready, they won’t hesitate to push the game’s release date.
EA and DICE got a lot of negative feedback when Battlefield 4 came out in 2013. That game launched with so many bugs and it took months of updates for the game to be playable.
Not wanting to repeat these mistakes, EA delayed Battlefield Hardline for a few months. The game missed the lucrative Holiday 2014 season and came out in March 2015 instead.
It will be interesting if Star Wars Battlefront does get delayed. EA will miss on a lot of sales if it misses its November 2015 release date. A month before Star Wars 7: A Force Awakens comes out is the best time for it.
Despite Moore saying EA will delay the game if needed, he’s confident it won’t happen though. He said the game is already playable even with 40-players. He’s sure the game will be bug free on launch day.
