The ESRB has now put up its rating for Star Fox Zero which also includes a few new details about Star Fox Guard as well. The latter is a tower defense game that comes free with Zero.
Star Fox Zero got a rating of E10+ and only features “Fantasy Violence”. Star Fox Guard also got the exact same rating and content description.
The rating summary for Star Fox Zero is: “This is an action shooter in which players assume the role of Fox McCloud as he leads a space squadron to stop an evil villain. Players pilot a ship through air-to-air or air-to-ground battles on various planets. Players fire lasers, homing missiles, and bombs at various targets (e.g., enemy spacecraft, tanks, rival pilots).
Nearly all of the characters in the game resemble humanoid versions of animals and amphibians (e.g., birds, canines, frogs, rodents); these characters are depicted in vehicles during combat. Battles are frenetic with large explosions, colorful lasers effects, and frequent radio chatter.
The rating summary for Star Fox Guard said: “This is a strategy game in which players assume the role of a guard tasked with defending mining bases from invading robots. Players position and use security cameras equipped with laser blasters to shoot waves of robots and larger bosses. Some shooting sequences are presented from a first-person perspective. Enemies disappear amid colorful light effects and mild explosions.”
Star Fox Zero will be released on April 22nd, 2016 exclusively for the Wii U console.
