Sunday night Bethesda dropped a few bombshells on the gaming public, one of the more interesting of which was the unveiling of the Fallout 4 Pip-Boy Edition, which serves as the game’s version of a Collector’s Edition.
Featuring, among a few other things, an actual wearable Pip-Boy from the Fallout universe (once you insert your smartphone of course), the newly announced version was immediately sought after by fans.
That reaction has resulted in some pretty quick sell outs of the Fallout 4 Pip-Boy Edition across the internet. Amazon put up their pre-orders the night of the announcement, and has since sold out, while a few other retailers still seem to have their listings available, such as Best Buy.Other retailers haven’t put pre-orders up at all yet, but once they do you should expect similar results.
With any Collector’s Edition announcement, the concern is how much stock the developer has produced for release. Bethesda has traditionally produced some fairly rare ones. The Fallout 4 Pip-Boy Edition will probably end up becoming a very highly sought after item once it releases, though there are certainly no guarantees. Bethesda could have figured out that everyone would wan their own wearable Pip-Boy and planned accordingly.
Fallout 4 hits PS4, Xbox One, and PC on November 10th, 2015.
