Even though Final Fantasy XV was renamed from Final Fantasy Versus XIII, both games are different.

There’s a reason why Final Fantasy XV has been taking so long to come out. This is because Square Enix has pretty much reworked massive amounts from Final Fantasy Versus XIII.

During the latest Active Time Report, Hajme Tabata (the game’s director) outlined many changes that they have made to Final Fantasy XV. Some of the content from Final Fantasy Versus XIII will no longer appear.

The biggest omission from Final Fantasy XV is that Stella is no longer in the game. She was a big part of Final Fantasy Versus XIII. She has essentially been replaced by Luna who has an all-new story.

The city party scene from Final Fantasy Versus XIII has been removed in Final Fantasy XV. This was a scene that Stella appeared in. They’re pretty much changing a lot from what we saw from the original trailers several years ago.

The story of Final Fantasy XV has been changed from Final Fantasy Versus XIII as well. It also sounds like the game won’t have any sequels. They want an entire complete story with only the one game.

Hopefully the changes made for Final Fantasy XV has been worth it. A lot of fans actually liked Stella from Final Fantasy Versus XIII.
