One perk of buying the excellent Deus Ex: Human Revolution for PC is that it comes with a free voucher for the OnLive version of the game.  That is, unless you are purchasing that PC version from GameStop.  Recent reports suggest that the retailer is removing the freebies from the game.  An internal memo to employees asks that the code is removed.

“Our desire is to not have this coupon go to any customers after this announcement.”  Translated–>  OnLive is one of the biggest threats to our business model, lets not help them out in any way.

GameStop has confirmed the action taken and said:  “Square Enix packed the competitor’s coupon with our Deus Ex: Human Revolution product without our prior knowledge and we did pull and discard these coupons.”

You can’t blame GameStop for trying to scrape together as much business as possible at this point, following there most recent quarterly reports, the company had considerable sales drop-offs.  Deus Ex: Human Revolution has proven to be a critical success for the most part.  You can check out our review here, and our review round-up here.
