Earlier this week brought us the announcement of LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which wasn’t a surprise at all with the series’ history together. While the reveal trailer showed us that the game will be following the movie very closely, the game itself will have some very interesting extra content.

From the official press release the other day, we learned that LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens would be including content that bridges Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens, but now further details about that have been revealed.

Game Informer had an exclusive inteview with TT Games, including game director James Eden. They go into much more detail about this extra content, in which they say the game specifically has six missions that they count as the “bridge content” that they are creating for the game. As the game director, Eden discussed how excited the team was to be making new content beyond the movie as well.

“I can remember the first day on the project and we said that we’d be doing those sort of levels and content, and I couldn’t believe that we were going to get to make our own content that was going to be part of the Star Wars universe.”

One mission they did reveal will explain how C-3PO got his red arm that he had in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which is also being explained through an official in-canon comic, though it is expected this will give us even more of it. They do make sure to point out we won’t see content like details on Rey’s parentage though, as that’s way too important.

LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens will arrive on most every platform on June 26.
