The holiday season is quickly approaching, which means it’s time for video game consoles to start ramping up the deals. Microsoft seems poised to kick things off in a big way, promising seven new Xbox One bundles that will be unveiled throughout next week.
Last year the Xbox One was fierce with its competition, pushing price cuts and bundles that ended up making it the top selling console for the holiday season in the US and UK. Following that the PS4 retook its top spot, but Microsoft seems to have learned their lesson and is ready to repeat the success of last year.
The main question that we are left with is, what will these bundles be? Most likely we won’t be seeing games like Halo: The Master Chief Collection and maybe even Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, as those have been out for some time. However, the Xbox One has a pretty stellar lineup of games coming later this year that can easily be bundled with hardware.
Halo 5: Guardians, Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, Fallout 4, and Fable Legends could be among the bundled games. Rise of the Tomb Raider is almost a sure thing given Microsoft’s one year of exclusivity with the title. Previously we’ve seen Call of Duty games featured in bundles, but that is likely to end with Sony securing the deal that Microsoft used to own.
It’s also likely that we’ll see some mixing and matching in terms of hard drive space and the packed in controller. Elite Xbox One Controllers could be featured, alongside the new 1TB hard drive model of the Xbox One. Find out next week just what Microsoft has in store, and let us know in the comments what you think would be the best Xbox One bundle.
