Pokémon GO‘s Rock-type event, Adventure Week, recently ended, but Niantic isn’t wasting any time starting up a new event. This event is Water Festival 2018 and, as you could probably guess from its name, will focus on Water-type Pokémon.
It was recently announced on the Pokémon GO website that the game’s Water Festival event will begin today, June 7, at 1:00pm PST/4:00pm EST. During this event, Water-type Pokémon will receive increased spawn rates and there will be a higher chance to find shiny Shellders. There will also be new, Water-type-based Research missions available. Additionally, players will earn three times as much Stardust as normal for catching Water-types, 2km Eggs will be more likely to hatch Water-types and hatching Eggs will reward players with twice as much Candy and Stardust as normal. The Water-type Legendary Kyogre will also return as a Raid Boss during the event, and there will be a chance that Kyogre will turn shiny upon defeating it in a Raid Battle. The Water Festival will end on June 21 at 1:00pm PST/4:00pm EST.
