Pokemon is easily one of the most recognizable and respected series in all of gaming and fans have been hoping to play the originals again at some point, but to this point, we haven’t seen the release of them on the Virtual Console of any sort. The great news coming from the Nintendo Direct today however is that they are coming.
The original Pokemon Red and Green debuted in Japan on February 27, 1996, so in honor of that release, Nintendo has revealed that Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow will be jumping to the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console.
Prepare to catch ’em all again as all three arrive on February 27, 2016 for the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console.
The big hindrance that has been keeping this from coming to the Virtual Console in the past has been the inability to feel like you could have the full game, with the inability to trade.
However, Nintendo has revealed their own workaround here that will involve the regular wireless trading that we know and love from the modern games. This is what we were hoping for and now it has been announced.
Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow will be coming in only a few months on February 27, 2016, so get ready to play the Pokemon classics all over again.
