Sony has made PS4 update 2.55 now available for owners to download.
What does PS4 system update 2.55 include? Not much. It is another one of those minor updates that improves stability.
Main features in PS4 update 2.55 are:
“System software stability during use of some features has been improved”
This new update for the PS4 may have been done in response to the PSN maintenance that went longer than expected earlier this week. Some people had trouble visiting the PlayStation Store.
Sony usually releases a lot of stability updates for the PS4. Hopefully this means we won’t see many errors. Although Sony cannot be responsible for glitches that occur in games.
It’s also worth mentioning this new PS4 update is mandatory. You need to download it before you can play your games online. It shouldn’t take too long to wait since it’s only a minor update.
It’s likely at this rate, PS4 update 3.0 won’t be implemented until Fall 2015. Sony usually releases major updates when the next number is rolled out.
Whatever major features Sony has planned for future PS4 updates will be interesting to see. Microsoft will be rolling out backwards compatibility for Xbox One users later this year.
