While we already know that Double Fine’s Psychonauts 2 will definitely be happening as it recently reached its funding goal, the game was still able to gather up a solid amount of money in the few days remaining after the goal was met.

The Psychonauts 2 crowdfunding campaign on Fig concluded recently, ending with a total amount raised of $3,829,024 from 24,109 backers/investors. Considering the campaign was asking for $3.3 million, they now have another half a million bucks to make the game even better.

For those who don’t know, even though Double Fine raised more than they asked with the Fig campaign there is still much more money needed to get it done. They said previously that the total production budget for Psychonauts 2 would cost around $10 million, which they will be paying for with the help of an external investor and out of their own pockets.

Psychonauts 2 is currently eyeing a release in 2018, though you can check out the original game that’s being re-released on PlayStation 4 this Spring to get caught up. The game originally launched in 2005 for PlayStation 2, Xbox and PC.
