With less than 2 weeks till the release of Stronghold Crusader 2, people who have pre-ordered it, and are generally looking forward to this release, are probably salivating at the prospect of playing the game and need absolutely no more teases after the previous one with the Sultana. Well, tough biscuits, Firefly Studios is not going to stop until you look like a rabid dog with an introduction to a character that many Stronghold veterans will be familiar with: The Wolf.
The Wolf is touted to be the most dangerous and difficult opponent you will face in Stronghold Crusader 2. Whilst the Sultana was more crafty and had a more special forces approach to offense as well as defense and the Caliph relied on sheer crazy and fire, you will find that the Wolf relies upon overwhelming strength in both offense and defense. No longer, if given enough time, will you see puny thin-walled jokes of a castle that the Sultana and the Caliph tend to build, but gargantuan fortresses that the narrator of the video dubs “a true stronghold.”
And it isn’t just a big castle you will have to worry about tearing down when trying to defeating the Wolf. As armies come in Stronghold Crusader 2 comes, the Wolf will be sure to be throwing at you the largest and most heavily armed ones you will likely see in the game and unless you have yourself a very well crafted, strong and deep defense for your stronghold, when you see the Wolf’s army on the horizon coming for you, it’s probably game over.
So how do you beat such a seemingly impossible opponent (who is also extremely unhelpful as an ally, if you wished to walk that path)? Cheese rush him early with units like horse archers and assassins before he has the time to build up. If you are lactose intolerant, you need not bother.
Stronghold Crusader 2 will be released on the 23rd of September for PC.
