Team 17 is collaborating with Skybound Entertainment to release The Escapists: The Walking Dead for Xbox and PC in 2015. The Escapists which released to some critical praise earlier this year had players managing every day life for a prison inmate with the ultimate goal of escaping said prison(s).
In The Escapists: The Walking Dead, players will take control of Rick Grimes who’ll be in charge of a group of survivors that must find a safe escape route. The announcement for the game reveals that the game “faithfully matches the timeline of the comics and so as the player makes progress in the game they play through locations that mirror the progress of the band of survivors taken from the award-winning comic’s epic story.”
The game will debut this weekend in San Diego at the Walker Stalker Fan Fest, alongside SDCC ’15. You can check out our review of the PlayStation 4 version of The Escapists, which we gave a three out of five.
An exact release date has yet to be given for the game, but The Escapists: The Walking Dead should arrive later this year.
