The Next Big Xbox One Update Expected For February

The big Xbox One update that gave us backwards compatibility is already here, but Microsoft is already looking towards the next one that will be due out early next year.

Microsoft’s Mike Ybarra made some interesting comments on the next Xbox One update during the latest podcast episode from Larry “Major Nelson” Hyrb.

There won’t be any big updates for the Xbox One in the months of December and January. This is because Microsoft wants these months for stability. Don’t expect any new features to come out soon since we already got many new features on November 12th.

However, Ybarra did hint that the next big update should be coming our way in February instead. The Holiday season should also give the Xbox engineers a bit of a rest too so stability updates will be the only thing we should see until February rolls around.

It will be interesting to see what new features will be added to the Xbox One next year. Backwards compatibility will still be a big factor with more games to be added over the coming year. Only 104 Xbox 360 games are available to play on the Xbox One right now, but this number is sure to grow in the future.
