PEGI just rated the PS5/Xbox Series X/S version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and took the whole gaming community by surprise by revealing a release date for the title which is just as surprising as it is unlikely.

The Pan-European Game Information (PEGI) age rating system was created in 2003 and has become since then, one of the biggest authorities in their field. The system is today, used in over 35 countries across the globe.

As we said above, the released date couldn’t be more surprising since according to the title’s PEGI rating, the PS5/Xbox Series X/S version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Game Of The Year Edition is set to be released on October 19, 2021. That’s right, today. For those holding into that glimmer of hope, according to GamesRadar+, CD Projekt RED confirmed to the site that the new version will not be released today. You can check out the official rating for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Game Of The Year Edition below, as it is featured on PEGI’s official site:

The release date presented by PEGI caught the whole gaming community by surprise, but, even if the date was revealed as false, the fact that the title was rated means that the release of the updated version is now closer than ever. With that said, the release date for the PS5/Xbox Series X/S version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Game Of The Year Edition is still a mystery, even if CD Projekt RED already revealed that they are targeting a 2021 window.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was first released in 2015 for PCs, PS4, and for the Xbox One. In the game, players can experience the conclusion of the acclaimed The Witcher trilogy as they once again are put on the boots of the legendary White Wolf Geralt of Rivia, as he searches for his beloved, Yennefer of Vengerberg. The game is known as one of the best titles ever released as well as one of the best titles of the PS4/Xbox One generation, together with other juggernauts such as God of War and Ghost of Tsushima. The game was also responsible for presenting Gwent to the world, giving birth to another great IP. You can check out our review of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt here.

You can play The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and both its acclaimed expansions, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine, right now on PCs, PS4, Xbox One, and on the Nintendo Switch.
