Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’re probably aware that Red Dead Redemption 2, the follow-up to 2010’s critically acclaimed western action-adventure by Grand Theft Auto developer Rockstar Games, is one of the most anticipated games not only of the year, but of this console generation. After several long delays, the game received the official release date of October 26, 2018 not long ago, and now the first trailer since the release date reveal, and third trailer overall, has been released.
The new trailer focuses on the survival of western outlaws. Taking place in 1899, Red Dead Redemption 2 is set in a time when the “wild west” started to become more tame, as lawmen and bounty hunters are out to arrest or kill all remaining outlaw gangs. One such gang is the Van der Linde gang, of which this new game’s protagonist, Arthur Morgan, is a member of. The description of the new trailer explains, “With federal agents and the best bounty hunters in the nation massing on their heels, the [Van der Linde] gang must rob, steal and fight their way across the rugged heartland of America in order to survive. As deepening internal divisions threaten to tear the gang apart, Arthur must make a choice between his own ideals and loyalty to the gang who raised him.”
Red Dead Redemption 2 is slated for release on October 26, 2018 and will be available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. You can watch the new trailer below.
