Xbox One preview members are lucky today because they can get to play the first Halo Wars already. This is a chance for some people get ready for the sequel that is due out later this year.

Larry “Major Nelson” Hyrb announced on Twitter:Xbox One Preview Members: Halo Wars will be playable in PREVIEW via Back Compat later today (under Ready To Install)

In case you are wondering why preview members are getting the luxury to play Halo Wars first, it’s because Microsoft needs to test out how well the emulation will be. In the past, some other Xbox 360 games were released via backwards compatibility prematurely and their performances weren’t that great on Xbox One.

Hopefully Halo Wars’ release for preview members goes smoothly so that it will be available for all Xbox One owners very soon. Microsoft already made Alan Wake and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night playable for the Xbox One via backwards compatibility earlier today.

Many people are still waiting for lots of other games to be backwards compatible. Skate 3 and Call of Duty: Black Ops come to mind as two games that have been announced to be backwards compatible, but aren’t playable yet.
