Police investigators have determined that 23-year-old Nathaly Ramirez and her 8-month-old daughter were pushed from a 15-floor balcony at a Bronx apartment building. The incident occurred at 2550 Olinville Ave. Law enforcement officials confirm that the mother was pronounced dead after being rushed to Jacobi Hospital, while her infant daughter remains in critical condition and is clinging to life.
As reported by the NY Post, a neighbor heard a woman yelling before seeing something fall to the ground. This witness told reporters, “Please don’t do this, that’s my baby! My baby is scared, look at her face.” Another resident named Mickey recalled hearing screaming as early as 2:40 AM. He mentioned that he went to bed with a bad feeling that he would wake up to see something in the news.
Law enforcement sources indicated that the ex-boyfriend of the victim is currently being sought for questioning. While investigators initially looked into the possibility that the mother may have jumped or fallen while struggling with someone, the department has since determined that both individuals were pushed from the balcony. There also had been numerous instances of domestic violence at the residence resulting in arrests over the past few years, as WABC-TV reports.

Those who knew Ramirez describe her as a kind and hardworking person. She was a student of psychology at Baruch College and a graduate of the Bronx Leadership Academy High School. Many in her community remember her as a quiet, respectful individual who was often seen with her daughter. A neighbor named Katrina spoke fondly of the pair, stating, “She was very sweet. Very calm. Mild-mannered.” Katrina also remembered the baby as a very happy and expressive child.
Before this event, Ramirez had been working as an intern at a Manhattan consulting company. The team at Lishawn’s Consulting released a statement regarding the loss of their colleague. They described her as a rising star and a gem to work with, noting her tenacity and dedication to her career goals. The statement from the company, including CEO Lishawn Alexander and the entire team, expressed deep sorrow and offered condolences to the family.
Ramirez was also known for her gentle nature toward animals. A local resident noted that she had recently gone to great lengths to find a lost puppy, highlighting her kind-hearted character. A worker at a nearby deli, 674 Gourmet, noted that he never saw her arguing with anyone. He described her as always being quiet and respectful, whether she was alone or with her child.
