Destiny will be going down for maintenance today starting at 11am Eastern Time and going until 3pm at the very latest, according to Bungie. Players will not be able to sign into the game during this window of time, and those that are signed in when the maintenance begins will be kicked off.
Bungie has not explained what exactly they’ll be doing to the game during this downtime, though most likely they are preparing the game for the impending April update. If this is true, you shouldn’t notice any difference in the game, once you boot back into Destiny after the maintenance is finished. The Destiny April update was previously detailed, so check it out to see what will be changing later on.
Destiny downtime is always annoying, but Bungie usually reserves it for when it is absolutely necessary. They gave the window of 11am to 3pm Eastern Time, but often they conclude the work early. On rare occasions something goes wrong, leaving Destiny down for longer than anticipated. If that happens we will update this post, so check back if you are having trouble with the game after the maintenance is supposed to have concluded.
Bungie.net will also be impacted, so signing in there could be a problem during this window of time.
