The beginning of a Champion Hill match in Call of Duty: Vanguard

Best Vanguard Champion Hill Loadout: Weapons and Streaks to Help You Win

Recommended Videos

Champion Hill is an interesting and challenging game mode in Call of Duty: Vanguard. There are 8 teams of two or three people with a set number of lives. Random duos and trios will be pitted against each other on a map for a limited amount of time. Both teams attempt to take as many lives from the other team as possible, while also avoiding having theirs taken. Once the time is up, the next team they face is chosen at random.

Players start with $500 and killing other players earns them money. The money can be spent on weapons, equipment, Perks, Killstreaks and even extra lives at the start of the game and between every few rounds. In this guide, we’ve detailed the best loadout to use in Champion Hill in Call of Duty: Vanguard, so you can dominate the competition and place number one.

Weapon

Weapons are mostly down to personal preferences in Champion Hill. It’s a mode where TTK (time-to-kill) is extremely important, as keeping as many lives as possible is crucial to winning and a lower TTK can mean the difference between losing a life and the enemy losing theirs. The MP-40 has the highest TTK out of the available guns, but choose what you’re most comfortable with. It’s important to remember that loadouts don’t apply to Champion Hill, so the stock gun can feel different to the one you’re now used to using in general multiplayer.

Guns can’t be customised, but are available to upgrade during matches for money. The upgrade is automatic and generally favorable, so upgrade as and when you see fit. You’ll receive a message with the button or key you need to press when you’re eligible to upgrade.

We highly recommend that one person becomes a dedicated sniper. Snipers are less likely to expend lives and can pick off enemies to both save their fellow teammates and deduct lives from the opponent’s team.

Killstreaks and Support

Make sure one player gets a Spy Plane as soon as possible. Knowledge truly is half of the battle in Champion Hill; knowing where your enemies are puts your team at a great advantage. Fewer lives lost, more lives taken.  Other than Spy Plane, it’s usually best to avoid Killstreaks in favor of purchasing weapon upgrades and lives.

You can learn more about Killstreaks and which are the best by reading our guide, ‘Killstreaks Tier List: Best Streaks to Use in Call of Duty: Vanguard‘.

Armor Plate, which makes you immune to torso shots until it breaks, can also be the difference between life and death in a 1v1. Remember to stock up on those, too.

Perks

Only a handful of Perks are available to purchase and most unlock further into the match. None are particularly game-changing, but Ghost can definitely be useful if you can spare the cash. As explained above Spy Planes are extremely useful in Champion Hill and Ghost allows you to completely bypass them. It could give you the edge, but there’s no guarantee that the enemy will use anything that Ghost counters.

Equipment

You won’t be using equipment often and you already start the game with a MK2 Frag Grenade and No 69 Stun Grenade. It’s best to save your money, unless you’re particularly good with a Throwing Knife or know your maps well and can place effective mines.

That wraps it up for our Champion Hill Loadout guide! Remember to stay calm, upgrade your weapon, work with your team and don’t waste any lives. Follow these rules and you’ll be well on your way to the number one spot. For more guides on weapons and Perks, check out our STG44 Loadout Guide, a solid and versatile rifle to use in multiplayer.
