As always, there is a new Spotlight Hour in Pokemon GO and this week it is centered on Numel. Numel is a Fire- and Ground-type Pokemon which makes it more versatile by extremely vulnerable to Water-type attacks. Numel can also evolve into Camerupt. Here is everything you need to know about the Numel Spotlight Hour in Pokemon GO.
Numel Spotlight Hour Start and End Time
As with every Spotlight Hour, the Numel Spotlight Hour starts on Tuesday, May 10, at 6:00 p.m. local time and ends at 7:00 p.m. local time the same day. With the times understood, will Numel be shiny during the Spotlight Hour?
Can Numel Be Shiny?
No, unfortunately, Numel can’t be shiny in Pokemon GO yet. It is unclear when Niantic does and doesn’t reveal shiny versions of Pokemon, which makes it hard to tell when to expect a shiny Numel. In the meantime, you can focus on trying to get a lucky Pokemon or a shiny Charizard. There are also plenty of other shiny Pokemon coming out in the May Spotlight Hours so be sure to check back in to learn about those opportunities.
How to Catch Numel
Even though Numel can’t be shiny, it is still a great Pokemon to have. And if you catch enough of them, you can evolve it into a Camerupt. Of course, you’ll want to check the IV of your Numel to make sure you evolve only the best one. But first you need to catch a Numel.
There are several things you’ll want to remember going into the Numel Spotlight Hour in Pokemon GO. To maximize the hour, make sure to clear out enough space in your Storage and purchase Lures or Incense. By doing this, you’ll be doing yourself a favor by preparing to catch as many Numel as possible.
Numel Spotlight Hour Bonuses
The bonus active during the Numel Spotlight Hour is 2x Transfer Candy. That means, during this time, any Pokemon you transfer to Professor Willow will earn you 2x the candy. Even if you aren’t interested in Numel, be sure to take advantage of the bonus during the Spotlight Hour window.
