You can buy Resources like Iron, Aluminum, Nickel, and other resources from Starfield resource vendors. However, not every vendor sells resources, and only a handful of them at the start of the game sell enough to make your visit to them worth it.
If you are looking for a specific resource to craft an item for your settlement, we have the best Starfield resource vendors you need to visit ASAP, as they sell more than enough resources to get you going.
Where to Buy Resources in Starfield
While you can mine resources out of planets and moons, I find that process to be a little slow and tedious. Unless you’ve created a well-established base and are utilizing the unlimited XP farm glitch, finding the planets and moons that have the resources you need and then physically mining the resources is a process that can be eliminated entirely thanks to resource vendors.
New Atlantis, Cydonia, Akila City, and Neon are the best places to buy Resources from vendors in Starfield when you first start playing. There are five Resource vendors at these locations that will literally sell more Resources than you can carry. I found it is best to bring a companion with you so they can help you carry everything you buy back to your ship and your settlement.

Jemison Mercantile is found on New Atlantis in the main area after exiting your ship. It is directly north of the water fountain. After entering Cydonia on Mars, you’ll find the UC Exchange on the left side before jumping down into the mines.
Jane’s Goods is also located in Cydonia, but you need to enter the Residential area found on the left to get to it. Once here, continue toward the community center and you’ll see Jane’s Goods on the way.
Midtown Minerals is found in Akila City. It’s the third building on the left right next to The Rock. You’ll find Mining League in Neon left of the elevator. It is seated left of the Freestar Rangers HQ. If you need more help finding things, check out our guide on where to find your Dream Home.
