Life is Strange True Colors: Choose Steph or Ryan as the Hottest Distraction?

Recommended Videos

At the beginning of Chapter 3 of Life is Strange: True Colors, Ryan and Steph ask you to choose the hottest distraction between the two of them. Both of their plans to obtain more information about Typhon involve distracting Diane with a date, but Steph and Ryan can’t decide which of them would work better as the distraction. This means it’s up to you to choose between the two of them. Here’s who you should pick as the hottest distraction in Life is Strange: True Colors.

Should You Choose Ryan or Steph as the Hottest Distraction?

The decision really comes down to personal preference. Both of the plans are identical. The only difference is whether Ryan or Steph will be the distraction for Diane. Just choose the one you personally find the most attractive because the plan will play out the same regardless of your choice.

While this decision doesn’t start a romance with either of the two characters, it definitely sends a signal that Alex is interested in whoever you choose. Some minor new dialogue options will be unlocked later on based on who you choose, and you’ll be able to use your empathy power to catch them thinking about your choice soon after. For example, choosing Steph will unlock a unique dialogue option at the LARP later in the chapter.

If you do want to romance Steph or Ryan then you’re in luck, because they’re the only two romance options in the entire game. While your decisions throughout the game can affect your relationships with them, none of your choices will ever lock you out of romance. All you have to do is make a move at the right time and you’ll be set. If you want to date Steph, then check out our Steph romance guide. If you prefer Ryan, then check out our Ryan romance guide.

Life is Strange: True Colors is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. A Nintendo Switch version of the game is coming at a later date.
