Update 1.65 has arrived for Marvel’s Avengers, and here’s the full list of changes and fixes added with this patch. This update brings Marvel’s Avengers to version 2.4 on all platforms. This patch is the long-awaited rewards rework, aiming to make every mission in Marvel’s Avengers much more rewarding for dedicated players. It mainly focuses on events, which have been the best ways for Marvel’s Avengers players to stock up on good gear.
Events will now be cycled on a regular rotation with new mission chains that grant players powerful gear, and new daily and minor mission chains will provide smaller rewards to help players boost up their heroes’ power levels. Another major update is on the way as well, but in the meantime, here’s everything new with Marvel’s Avengers Patch 2.4.

A Look at Marvel’s Avengers Patch 2.4 Rewards Rework
With this rework, there are now three mission chain types to complete during our limited-time events like Tachyon Anomaly or Corrupted Vibranium. These two-week sprints will provide rewards for daily play and sustained play. The three mission chain types include:
- Meta Mission Chains: Completing all tasks in a Meta Mission Chain will offer up the best rewards during our limited-time events. By completing the full list of Daily and Minor Mission Chains, you’ll earn Exotics above Power Level 120 for your entire roster. Even better, these Superior Exotics will drop at a 140+ Power Level. Previously 140+ Power Level items could only be earned by endgame players who completed the Family Reunion Omega Level Threat or the Discordant Sound Raid.
- Minor Mission Chains: These mission chains are sometimes Hero-specific and offer another way to increase your Power Level on a per-Hero basis.
- Daily Mission Chains: Daily missions feed into the larger Meta Mission Chain objective and will offer repeatable gear rewards for the entirety of the two-week event.

REASSEMBLE CAMPAIGN & AVENGERS INITIATIVE
- Fixed an issue preventing enemy waves from spawning in Vault missions.
- In efforts to make completing the “Protocol: Faction” mission chain easier, we made Faction Missions more accessible by increasing the number of times they are randomly chosen in Quick Match.
- Fixed an issue in the Discordant Sound Raid where Klaw’s cannon slam ability would cause giant rocks to appear on screen, unintentionally obscuring players’ views. This ability no longer spawns the giant rocks.
- Fixed an issue causing players to accidentally skip certain campaign missions when loading into campaign missions from Avengers Initiative.
- Fixed an issue allowing players to push the Assault Adaptoid into unreachable level geometry during the “Hawkeyes” mission. The Assault Adaptoid can no longer be pushed out of bounds by certain player abilities.
- Fixed an issue in the “Blood Feud” Mission causing the camera to clip below the terrain during Black Panther’s drop-in intro.
MULTIPLAYER & MATCHMAKING
- Fixed an issue in multiplayer preventing some players from seeing statuses applied to enemies by other players.
ART & ANIMATION
- Fixed an issue causing Thor’s cape to clip through his arm when wearing the “Thor: The Dark World” Outfit.
- Fixed a texture issue with Hawkeye’s “Time Runs Out” Outfit.
- Fixed an issue in “Bad Blood” mission causing a distracting amount of flaring from certain light sources.
- Fixed an issue where a flat image appears in the environment background in War for Wakanda’s “The Way it Began” mission. The image should no longer appear in the background.
- Fixed an issue where Black Widow’s “Veil of Shadows” ability would not cloak Mjolnir when the ability affects Thor. The ability now cloaks all of Thor.
- Fixed an issue with Kate Bishop’s “Fed Up” emote causing the bow to act a bit wonky. The Emote should animate as intended now.
USER INTERFACE
- Fixed an issue causing overlapping text to appear on certain UI elements during gameplay.
- Updated the UI during solo play so that the “Enable Matchmaking” option does not display.
- Updated subtitles in Shuri sections of the Discordant Sound Raid.
- Updated subtitles for Black Panther in certain sections of the Discordant Sound Raid.
- Fixed an issue where Nameplates were not displaying on the Hero Roster or Character Selection Screen when a player would join a Strike Team. Nameplates should now display on all appropriate screens.
COMBAT
- Fixed an issue causing Summoning Major Artifacts to block other players in the party from using their own Summoning Major Artifacts at the same time.
- Fixed an issue where Hawkeye’s “Recovery Arrow” fails to activate if a player is in the middle of a parry animation.
- Fixed an issue where enemy attacks that hit Thor (while his Warrior’s Fury buff is active) drain players’ Intrinsic Meter when he should be invincible – when the skill has just activated or during a takedown.
GEAR, CHALLENGES, & REWARDS
- Removed Spider-Man perk, “Heavyweight Impulse” from dropping on Spider-man’s gear.
- Increased range that the Sonic Conduit perk affects team mates to 100m
- Added new strings for Kate Bishop and Ms. Marvel Perks that were identical to help clarify the perks intent
- An example is the new name for Polymorph Final Breaker (increasing combo finisher attack damage while Polymorphed) which was Polymorph Breaker (which would imply all polymorph damage)
- Fixed an issue where Black Panthers Ranged gear showed melee icons (and
vice versa) - Priority missions should now state they award the Apex Power set
- Activating Brooklyn Brawler or Power Surge no longer increases the damage from corrupted Vibranium.
KNOWN ISSUES
- Activating your Heroic Assault ability while you have a JARVIS barrier active will remove the barrier and replace it with a placeholder buff. This buff adds assault heroic damage and is a prototype that made it into the build. This will be fixed in the next patch.
This update aims to keep Marvel’s Avengers players motivated even during content droughts, which has been a huge problem for this live-service action game. According to Crystal Dynamics, players were saying that the rewards available should be more consistent, so they “looked at how we could standardize them (e.g. making sure all of them granted Exotic rewards to your entire eligible roster vs only the Hero you were using when you completed the objective) and then gave each event a specific theme of Exotics to give them a stronger identity.”
This update also provides a path for non-raiding players to raise their roster of heroes to level 175, which was another key complaint given the game’s low player count and matchmaking issues. Crystal Dynamics will also reveal more information later this year for players who don’t engage with the game’s high-end content, saying “One of the things we are looking at for future endgame content is how we add reward chases while still allowing players who don’t engage with endgame content a path to upgrade.”
Marvel’s Avengers Patch 2.5 is also scheduled for release later this year, adding Jane Foster, the Mighty Thor, as the game’s next playable hero. Some fans were disappointed that the game is receiving a semi-clone after such a long period of silence (and since the game already has two Hawkeyes), but this tie-in with Thor: Love and Thunder shows that Crystal Dynamics is working harder to keep the game up to date with the biggest Marvel projects. The overall 2022 roadmap for Marvel’s Avengers is still nowhere to be seen though, and there isn’t any info about the game’s future past Patch 2.5 either.
Marvel’s Avengers is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Google Stadia.
