Pokemon GO Pikipek Spotlight Hour

Pokemon Go Pikipek Spotlight Hour Guide: Shiny Pikipek Chances & Perfect IV Stats

Recommended Videos

Pikipek Spotlight Hour is here in Pokemon Go, and trainers can take advantage of this event to try and catch a shiny Pikipek or find one with perfect IVs to add to their collection. Pikipek is the woodpecker Pokemon native to the Alola region. It was introduced to Pokemon Go at the start of the Season of Alola, which is about to end after a multi-month run.

Because it’s still a new addition to the game, many trainers are looking forward to its Spotlight Hour so they can stock up on Pikipek Candy among other things. This is the final Spotlight Hour of the Season of Alola, so it’s only fitting that Pikipek is the featured Pokemon this week.

You can use this event to finish up any tasks you still have left for the Alola to Alola event and its Collection Challenge, which requires you to obtain Trumbeak and Toucannon. Here’s everything you need to know about Pikipek Spotlight Hour in Pokemon Go, including your chances of finding a shiny Pikipek and what to look out for if you want a Pikipek with 100% perfect IV stats.

Pikipek Spotlight Hour Schedule

Pikipek Spotlight Hour will take place on Tuesday, May 31 from 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM local time in your region. Spotlight Hour events always take place at the same time every Tuesday with a different featured Pokemon and bonus. This week, the bonus is double catch Stardust, so you will get twice as much Stardust as normal for catching Pokemon during the event.

Can Pikipek Be Shiny?

Pikipek cannot be shiny in Pokemon Go. Niantic has yet to add shiny Pikipek to the game, so trainers will have to wait until a later date to catch one. Toucannon and Trumbeak, Pikipek’s evolutions, cannot be shiny either. Most of the Alolan Pokemon in Pokemon Go don’t have shiny versions yet, with Niantic saving their shiny debuts for later events.

Perfect IV Stats for Pikipek in Pokemon GO

If you’re looking for a Pikipek with perfect IVs, then this Spotlight Hour is the best opportunity to catch one. A fully-evolved Toucannon with 100% perfect IV stats can make a great addition to any battling roster, and that journey starts with finding the perfect Pikipek.

Here are the CP values that correspond to perfect 15/15/15 IV values for Pikipek:

  • Level 30 (wild CP max): 780 CP
  • Level 35 (weather-boosted CP max): 845 CP

These values only apply if you’re above level 30 in Pokemon Go, as wild CP values scale with your trainer level if you’re beneath level 30. Most people searching for perfect IV Pokemon are already above level 30 though, so this shouldn’t be an issue.

That’s all you need to know about Pikipek Spotlight Hour in Pokemon Go, but there’s still a ton of other stuff coming to the game in the next few weeks. The Season of Go kicks off in June, adding new Pokemon spawns, eggs, and raid lineups to the game for the summer season. A new season also means new events, and trainers can look forward to Adventure Week and a Pokemon TCG Crossover event soon. Of course, you can’t forget the next set of Spotlight Hours for the month of June, either.
