If you were interested in checking out Adult Swim and Double Fine’s metroidvania Headlander earlier this year but couldn’t due to the supported platforms, then we’ve got some good news for you. Not only is the game coming to Xbox One, but that version of the game is already available to purchase.
The game originally launched in July on PC and PS4, and despite being a smaller release it garnered very positive praise. The game’s roots are heavily drawn from the metroidvania formula, but it mixes is some interesting mechanics with a fantastic sense of humor to make it something that is truly its own.
“You are the last known human in the universe, and all that’s left of you is a disembodied head,” reads the game’s Steam page description. “Seeking clues to your fractured past, you must travel through a hostile world of machines using a special helmet that allows you to dock into and take control of any robotic host body. As you launch from one body to the next, you’ll start to discover that things are not quite what they appear to be, and the fate of humanity has yet to be decided…”
