After months of rumors, Sony and Naughty Dog have finally confirmed that The Last of Us will be arriving on the PlayStation 4. The Last of Us: Remastered will release on the PS4 in Summer of 2014, and include the Left Behind single player expansion, the Abandoned Territories multiplayer map pack, and Reclaimed Territories map pack.

Naughty Dog says that the remastered edition of The Last of Us will launch in 1080p resolution, contain higher resolution character models, improved shadows and lighting, upgraded textures, and other technical improvements for what was already a stunning game on the PlayStation 3.

“We’re putting a lot of effort into this to make it really a remastered version. We have found that working on the PS4 has allowed us to evolve and upgrade the visuals and a multitude of technical aspects of the game. We love setting challenging technical hurdles at every step – and this is no different,” writes Eric Monacelli on the PlayStation Blog.
