Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is Getting a Limited Edition (At Least in Europe)

A ton of information about Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was announced today (August 8) during a stream that revealed characters, stages, items, and more. However, Nintendo’s European audience got a little bit more than the rest of us.

After the stream, the Nintendo of Europe Twitter page revealed that there will be a Limited Edition of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate made available on launch day. This Limited Edition will include a physical copy of the game, as well as a Super Smash Bros. edition GameCube controller and a GameCube controller adapter. The adapter has room for four GameCube controllers, but the Limited Edition will only come with a single controller. More officially licensed GameCube controllers can be bought individually, however, and are currently available for pre-order. The price of the Limited Edition has yet to be announced and it is currently unknown if it will be available outside of Europe.

For those who may be wondering, the Limited Edition of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate includes a GameCube controller and adapter because, since the release of Super Smash Bros. Melee for the GameCube in 2001, many Smash Bros. players have preferred the GameCube controller to the controllers of any other console that saw a Smash Bros. entry. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will release on December 7 for the Switch.
