A Michigan resident captured a tense argument on camera after she was confronted over her use of a handicap parking space. The woman, who is eight months pregnant and wears a hijab, shared the video on TikTok under the username @mimrahf.
As reported by The Nerd Stash, she confirmed that she lives at the apartment complex and holds a valid handicap parking pass. According to her, the apartment manager and other neighbors have never had a problem with her using the spot when it remains open.
The conflict started when a neighbor identified as Barbara Gold approached the resident. The resident stated that Gold wanted the spot kept open for her own visiting friends. She also noted that she started filming because she had dealt with harassment from another person while driving through the complex previously. This specific interaction marked their first direct conversation.
She says she was targeted for being Muslim
In the video, Gold questions the resident about her disability. When the resident asks if she considers pregnancy a disability, Gold replies, “Well, could be.” She continues with a comment, “Until your baby comes. We’ll see what’s disabled.”
The situation becomes more hostile as the argument continues. Gold tells the resident, “You don’t belong here.” When the resident asks if Gold even knows what her disability is, Gold responds, “Keep your f**** at home. We don’t like you, we don’t want you, and neither does anybody else in the building. Get ready!”
When the resident asks what she should be getting ready for, Gold refuses to provide an answer and tells the resident to think about it. The conversation shifts back to the parking spot, with Gold insisting the resident should buy another space like everyone else.
The resident explains that she already has a parking spot, but Gold does not back down. The interaction ends with Gold calling the resident “ugly and fat,” to which the resident makes a remark about Gold’s age.
While the resident stated her belief that Gold targeted her because she is Muslim, the video does not confirm the motivation behind the confrontation. Viewers on TikTok reacted with concern, particularly regarding the vague warning Gold gave the resident.
One person wrote, “That’s a threat. You need to report her.” Another commenter offered support, stating, “Just so you know. You are wanted. You are valued. Do not let people like her ever make you doubt your value.”
Many people suggested that the resident take the footage to her leasing office. One commenter wrote, “Please tell me you showed your leasing office. She needs to be kicked out of her apartment.” Others praised the way the resident handled the situation. One user noted, “I would take 100 neighbors like you, over 1 Barbara. You handled that beautifully. Please report her and be careful.”
