Sean “Diddy” Combs just started his time at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey, but people inside the prison say he’s already talking about getting out early. The rapper is telling other inmates that he thinks his time behind bars won’t last as long as everyone expects.
According to TMZ, Diddy has been talking a lot about getting a presidential pardon from President Donald Trump. He’s been telling fellow prisoners that he believes Trump will pardon him sometime in early 2026, which would be way before his sentence ends.
Diddy just started serving 50 months in prison, but he’s already telling inmates he won’t be there long. He seems pretty sure this will happen because he’s even been making promises to the other inmates. Sources say he’s been telling them he’ll help them out once he gets pardoned and goes home.
Trump will do what he wants
Things between Diddy and Trump haven’t always been smooth. Last month, Trump was thinking about whether to give Diddy a pardon or not. Some people working at the White House told him not to do it, but one source told TMZ that “Trump will do what he wants.”
Diddy showed up at Fort Dix last week to start his sentence for breaking the Mann Act. He’s already been locked up for more than 13 months, and if you count that time, he might get out in about two years anyway. But none of that matters if Trump decides to let him go early.
Right after Diddy got sentenced back in early October, his lawyers got in touch with someone important at the White House. This person has a direct line to the president, and they asked about getting Diddy’s sentence cut short or getting him a full pardon.
Trump found out about it pretty fast and even talked about it with reporters. Before reporting to Fort Dix, Diddy reached out to Kanye West from Brooklyn prison with a warning message.
Things got weird between Diddy and Trump back in 2020 when Diddy backed Joe Biden during the presidential election.
Even though that happened, Trump hasn’t completely shut down the idea of helping Diddy out. Just two weeks ago, someone high up in the White House said Trump was thinking about cutting Diddy’s sentence short. The White House Communications Office later said that story wasn’t true, but TMZ says they’re sticking with what they reported.
Nobody really knows if Diddy’s confidence about getting a pardon is based on anything real. Right now, he’s still at Fort Dix serving his time, but it sounds like he’s pretty hopeful that Trump will step in and help him get out early. Meanwhile, other celebrity news continues to make headlines, including Justin Bieber’s controversial take on what counts as cheating.
