Destroy the Corruption Cluster and all Corruption Fragments is one of Dark Jonsey’s tasks for you after accepting his questline in Fortnite Season 8. The NPC was added to the game as part of this year’s Fortnitemares event and brought a punchcard full of quests with him. Dark Jonsey wants you to destroy the corruption cluster and all corruption fragments that will somehow help him with his purpose. This guide will help you quickly and easily perform the destroy the corruption cluster and all corruption fragments quest in Fortnite Season 8.
How to Destroy the Corruption Cluster and All Corruption Fragments in Fortnite
To complete Dark Jonsey’s destroy the corruption cluster and all corruption fragments challenge, you need to head straight to the Convergence location. The location is at the heart of the Fortnite island in Season 8 and as you get closer to the area, patches of grass around trees and bushes can be seen. Since the Convergence is a location and not a POI you won’t find its name on the map.
The Corruption Fragments are purple crystals that emerge from the ground and you need to keep smashing them with your pickaxe until they stop rising from the ground. Only Harvesting Tool (pickaxe) can destroy Corruption Fragments in Fortnite and other weapons won’t work. Three Fortnite Corruption Clusters can be found at the new Convergence landmark. This Dark Jonsey’s quest requires you to destroy two Corruption Fragments at one of these clusters. Here are the approximate locations of the three Corruption Clusters:
- Northwest of the Convergence and northeast of Boney Burbs.
- East of the Convergence near the Dusty Depot landmark.
- South of the Convergence by the mountains.
After you visit any of the said locations, find these purple crystals and start destroying them until crystals stop generating to restore destroyed ones. It might take a while and you need to keep hitting these crystals until nothing arises from the ground. Make sure there are no enemies when you perform the quest. Successfully destroying the corruption cluster and all corruption fragments will reward you with 30000 XP. Here are all the quests in Dark Jonsey’s punchcard:
- Collect scrolls at different IO bases (0/2) – 30,000 XP
- Use a Shadow Stone, then recover the Spirit Vessel (0/1) – 30,000 XP
- Touch a Cube (0/1) – 30,000 XP
- Destroy the Corruption Cluster and all Corruption Fragments (0/2) – 30,000 XP
- Return the Spirit Vessel to the Oracle and hear his Vision (0/1) – 30,000 XP
