How to Get a Whetstone in V Rising

Recommended Videos

As you make your way further and further into the world of V Rising, you’ll need to start crafting up some items to help you with your castle. If you want to survive through the days, you’ll need to make sure that you’ve got a roof over your head. To do that, however, you’re going to need some specific materials.

One of those materials, the Whetstone, isn’t exactly the hardest thing to find, but once you are dropped into the world, you may have a hard time crafting it, or even finding it. Let’s dive right into the world, get our fangs out, and get right into where you’ll be able to get your hands on some Whetstone!

Sharpen Your Fangs, and Your Swords

The first thing that you’ll need to do in your quest to find Whetstone is venture out into the world a little bit. You’ll be able to come across different points of interest, and when you bring them up on your map, you’ll be able to see what items are waiting there for you.

One of the easiest places to get your hands on Whetstones is in Bandit Strongholds, where you’ll need to either enter with stealth or go in, fangs blazing and take out the foes that reside within them. You’ll be able to find quite a few useful items inside of these Strongholds, such as Whetstones, paper, ore, and more.

As you progress further in the game, however, you’ll also be able to craft your own Whetstone, but you’ll need to make a fair amount of progress first. You’ll need to take on and defeat the boss Grayson the Armorer before you’ll be able to make this item, so for the early game, you’ll need to resort to your exploration skills to find them. To create a Whetstone, you’ll need to put these items into the furnace:

  • 1 Copper Ingot
  • 12 Stone Dust

You’ll also need Whetstones to create different objects for your castle, such as the Grinder, a very valuable tool that will allow you to make Stone Bricks. Stone Bricks are needed to start making your castle more into a home, and they will also allow you to start building a roof for your castle, too.

There are plenty of new and exciting items to find out in the world of V Rising, so make sure that you’re checking back for all sorts of guides, and helpful hints to make sure you become the best vampire out there.

V Rising is available now, in early access, on Microsoft Windows.
